Summah

Yep, it’s summah. Summahtime. My special, happy time. Done with people being here, done with 5-Day — both of which were fun, yet stressful in their ways — and now I am sitting on my butt; I have only to make money, and be cool.

Haven’t talked to Lauren, Daniel, or John lately, and I’m feeling the burn of it. I miss my islas peeps.

Going out to breakfast tomorrow, and miniature golfing. Also, watched “Cocktail” Saturday night (okay, so I bought it at Half Price. It was, like, four bucks, and I was like, “gosh, I’ve seen bits of this movie but never all of it… so I should see it…”, and plus, HEY, it’s about BARTENDING, and what is COOLER than that?!?!?), and so today, Stephen and I were making with the mad cup twirling. It was a lot of fun, and we got some tricks down well enough that we were doing them — well — in front of customers. It pretty much ruled; the customers were amused. Shut up, I know you’re jealous.

Schedule tomorrow:

Breakfast w/Dave and Nicole, 9 AM-whenever, at some shmancy, cool restaurant.
Do chem, clean room, practice guitar.
Miniature golf w/crew from Tully’s, 6 PM-whenever.

Love, God bless. You, who art reading this blog, rule.

Dear Ndugu:

So, today seemed really long for bits, and then not too long… I’m not sure how to explain, but I feel like I slept through most of the workday, as well as most of the normal day. My co-worker Stephen kept asking me why I was so out-of-it, which I was until about an hour before closing. At which time Stephen and I made the discovery that we are both *huge* fans of Weird Al, and begin singing Weird Al songs, one after the other. One woman actually came in while we were in the middle of “Everything You Know Is Wrong”, and we continued our performance while making her drink. She seemed impressed, and a little freaked.

After which, *during* closing, we had a karaoke contest, only without the background music or the lyrics thingies. In other words, we sang songs for each other for awhile. Which was fun. Also, it turns out that we both watched “About Schmidt” last night, which is just kind of funny.

Once I got home from work, I pretty much bummed around our house for the rest of the evening. We just got DSL installed, and so I partook of that joyful occurance for awhile, watched some tv, and now — at 2:48 AM — I am lying in bed but very much not-tired, partially because I slept so late, and partially because I’ve had so much root beer. Life is crazy, and I feel a little tense, but I’ll get over it. Pray for me to recover from my awful sunburn, too… my face looks awful.

Drama Queen!

So, okay, first off — Mom found my blog. I don’t know if she showed it to Dad, but she said she read some of it, anyway. At first I was like, “OH NO!!!!” because it is the kind of place where I might post something sort of non-parental and private, but then I realized that, basically, whatever I’ve posted or might post, there’s nothing that would really *upset* my parents to know about me, I think. I mean, I just don’t feel like I have any dark secrets right now. I don’t think I have time for dark secrets; I’m too worried about college, and my job, and stuff like that. Anyway, it was just kind of funny, because I wasn’t expecting it, and she seemed amused by it.

The pic at the top, here, is from a recent photo shoot my sister did for me. She just got a digital camera, so she was being very photographery, ordering me around and saying stuff like, “Okay, now wear this hat. Angle it a little. Okay, now look sad. No, sadder. No, SADDER.” Which of course is *extremely* difficult in such a situation where you just want to laugh your head off… but it was fun, and I got a couple of pictures that I think I can live with :)

So besides that, life’s been good. Crazy, and good. Been hanging out with my brother and sister, watching lots of Buffy… been cleaning up the house, as we’re having guests coming in a few days to stay a week… I’m really excited about that! I don’t know entirely what we’ll do, but I’m sure we’ll have a blast anyhow. And I got my first bugbite of the summer last night! Which is not really a cause for joy, of course, but — summer!! It’s been really hot the last week, about, and I’m enjoying it, getting sunburned and whatnot. I’m really looking forward to 6-Day, too, which is in a couple of weeks… and, oh, I have to get senior wills! Oh dear…

Tomorrow is Senior Appreciation Day or something like that at church (yeah, it’s also Pentecost. Shoosh), and since I’m deep into youth group, there’s tons of stuff going on… like, there’s recognition of the seniors at church, and then after church, we are going on a boat trip (just for seniors) and then after the boat trip, it’s senior night at youth group… I’m looking forward to it, in a sort of oh-my-god-I’m-a-senior? kind of way. I’m going to miss youth group so much, though!…

Not much else going on. Love y’all, miss some of y’all, but hey, I have sunshine! God bless.
